Personality: Almost everyday, Mei greets anyone she meets with a bright, sunny smile on her face. She has a trademark aura of bouncy positivity that's both infectious and sickeningly sweet. Kind to all she meets, she's willing to go to the very ends of the Earth and back for those she cares about. Energetic, cheerful and fun-loving, the young lady lives everyday like it was her last. She's a big bundle of energy that never seems to stop shining. She's always optimistic and always looks to the positive side.
Along with her bright disposition comes a confident, sassy young woman. In fact, she could be what people consider to be too confident, hell, even a tad overconfident. She's quite assured in her ability to fight and is willing to prove it to those who dare say otherwise. In fact, she has flair for the dramatic and loves to show off. Her sharp tongue has certainly gotten her into some tough spots, specifically with her father, and she has a tendency to let out some sarcastic remarks every now and then.
However, her confidence comes with a price. Unfortunately for her, Mei is impulsive and tends to make rash, idiotic decisions or comments that can land her in some hot water. Further more, she's not the best at controlling her emotions. In fact, almost all her decisions are dictated by emotion alone. In addition to this, she's not quite the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to academics and has issues understanding complex terms. However, she definitely possesses some modicum "street smarts" and is no fool when it comes to obvious set ups and crimes.
Despite all this, her biggest weakness, is in fact, her biggest strength, her optimism. Her optimism tends to creep into rather idiotic idealism and she usually fails to believe that things can go wrong. In fact, she's so idealistic, she sees the world as black and white, that there is only good and evil and that killing is evil. Any form of killing, is considered to her, evil. She refuses to kill anyone and believes that the law should deal with heinous criminals.
History: The girl was the love child of two parents, who refused to look after her. Both refused to, citing that they were not ready for the responsibility for a child. So it lied upon one single young man to raise her, who unfortunately got dragged into this entire mess because of association. Mei grew up never knowing her brith father or mother, but she did always somehow knew that the man she called her father was not her "true" father. Regardless, she never did care, as long as she was happy and taken care of.
Mei grew up under the care of an up and coming actor, Chrys Haya. Chrys was perhaps not the best of parents, but he certainly tried. Of course, juggling an acting career, a daughter and being a part-time liberator was... not exactly ideal. Chrys did his absolute best to ensure that his daughter grew up with at least one parental figure, something he didn't have when growing up. Fortunately, Chrys managed somehow.
Of course, this also meant that Mei had to learn how to take care of herself from a young age. So she learnt to clean and cook basic dishes when she was young and frequently stayed over Chrys' sister's home, Cammy. Cammy was a bit of an oddball of an aunt, who frequently dissappeared for nearly months on end but Mei nevertheless was grateful for her presence. It was a bit of a wonder to her how Chrys managed to slot in enough time to go to her soccer games, her school dates and her parent teacher interviews. Chrys, also taught her how to fight. When asked why she had to learn how to fight, her father simply shook his head and told her, "There are bad people out there."
Mei, despite the hectic lifestyle she lived, was happy enough. Eventually, she grew to the age where her ethotic energy would spike, and that day manifested in her freezing the entire apartment her father had been renting. Needless to say, Chrys began to teach her how to control that too. Mei pretty much breezed through her ordinary life in Lillium, with not much happening aside from the occasional story that her father told her about his liberations.
In fact, it was these stories that kept Mei quite interested. Perhaps it was because she admired her father's tenacity, but something inside of her wanted to be like him. She wanted to help people and ensure the safety of others. Of course, her dad wasn't exactly impressed with her career choice and would have preferred her get a "normal" job instead of fighting monsters in weird dungeons. Still, she insisted she wanted to go try it out and her dad kept telling her she wasn't strong enough to handle one. This sparked some... heated discussions that included a few tantrums but reluctantly, her father gave in and let her go in one labyrinth with her.
Needless to say, it ended with Mei running for her life, getting her behind rescued by her father and a failure of a mission coupled with a few snarky, "I told you so..." from her dad. Mei wasn't going to give up just yet however!
It wasn't until a cold winter day something inside of her set off a spark of inspiration. It was seeing her Aunt Cammy on the television. Now, she knew her Aunt was a famous model but what she didn't know was that she was a famous liberator. She thought that perhaps if Cammy had helped her out in a labyrinth, then she could surely be a liberator too!
And so, she suddenly packed everything into her storage device and impulsively rushed out the door, in search of her elusive Aunt who had went on a soul-searching journey of sorts, (Chrys called it wine tasting). Halfway down the streets, she reminded that she should have probably her Dad that she was going to find her aunt but the thought of getting in trouble with her parent was not a pleasant thought. So she ignored all the phone calls and texts that was receiving from her dad.
Oh well, it should be fine.
Notable Relations:
- Chrys Haya - Her foster father. For the most part, the pair get along quite nicely and have a close, tight knit bond as father and daughter. Mei would never trade Chrys for anyone in the world. Although, they do disagree from time to time, mainly due to Mei's impulsive decisions and spontaneous emotional outbursts. Mei currently is avoiding any contact from her dad to avoid potentially dying from an enraged father.
- Cammy Haya - Her aunty and her main reason for leaving home. Mei has a positive relationship with her aunt and truly cherishes her. She in fact, admires her strength and courage, as she is both a model and liberator. She wishes to find her and talk to her so she can become stronger.
Normal Appearance: Mei has a heart shaped face with peachy toned skin. Her hair is a pale, golden blonde that goes down to her waist. Normally tied up in a ponytail, she parts her hair to the right with a fringe and has two hanging side bangs, the left one being longer for some 'fashionable asymmetry' as she calls it. She possesses a rather athletic build with toned abdominals, a sizeable chest, long healthy legs and a thin waist. However, her most striking feature is her piercing violet, sharp eyes.
In her normal day to day appearance, Mei typically wears rather trendy, hip and modern clothing. Her favourite casual outfit is a neon pink tight shirt with the words 'diamond princess" in blue across the chest, denim shorts, fishnet stockings, a choker and a green varsity jacket tied around her waist.
When on combat missions or training, Mei dons a bright pink modernised kunoichi outfit. She has a backless, sleeveless kimono top with gold trimming and large obi purple-blue sash around her waist. She also has her ribbon tied to the side and decorates it with a fake peony flower. However, the bottom is turned into a miniskirt with a slit for mobility, ninja-like arm guards, thigh high pink white stockings and a scarf and rather impractical high heeled boots with stilettos.
